Boracay

Have you been to Boracay ? Google it and you’ll have a glimpse of what to expect when in Boracay. Perhaps include Boracay Island to your list of your next vacation.

The last time I came to Boracay was 2005 and I looked forward to my next visit. May 2011 came and the Boracay dream was realized, thanks to the generous sponsors of my whole week stay in Boracay Holiday Resort. The apartelle room, good for 8 guests, 2 bedrooms with its own toilet and bath, a living room and a kitchen with utensils was a practical choice. The resort is a walk away from the island’s different attractions: D’Mall and Talipapa, Cyma, Zuzuni, Manana Mexican Restaurant, Dos Mestizos, Lemon iCafe, Pier One, Guilly's Island, Bom Bom Bar, Summer Place, Club Paraw, Bat Caves, Sunken Forest, Mount Luho and Kar-Tir Shell Museum. Provision was not a problem. Onboard was a natural born chef who did all the cooking. The resort also served, for the whole week, a free buffet breakfast. Our newly-wed chef cooked shrimp (hot and spicy), squid (guisado), tinolang isda and other mouth-watering sea food set of choices. It was a terrific vacation, well based on the food and accommodation per se.

Boracay was hailed by Yahoo Travel and BMW Tropical Beach Handbook as one of the world's best beaches and continues to entice beach loving tourists to its sun bleached shores of powder-soft white sands that never get hot even in the afternoon sun. Most of the foreign tourists who had been to the island have made Boracay their yearly destination while others have chosen to live on this haven. While the fine white sand beaches and the crystal clear cool waters of Boracay Island provide the main attraction, the possibilities for pleasure and adventure in this enchanting paradise are as seemingly endless. (Google: Boracay) There were water, land and sky adventure in the island, just name them and you’ll surely enjoy. We tried the flying fish ride and true enough the fish flied living us struggling for our life while Manong the driver speed the boat. It was heart-throbbing.
The island hopping treat was not what I expected it to be. It was disappointing in a way but we managed to have fun. We fed the gazillion fish while snorkeling in the one island-hop stopped station. We took home a buko juice to clench our thirst while on the ride. We visited the tip most part of the island through a cart ride that I enjoyed literally. The scenic view of the island was gratifying. The fresh cold air was soothing.
We took pleasure of the fruit shakes in Jony’s while having the glimpse of the magnificent sunset view. The sunset was perfectly crafted with the sundown waves.
I had the chance to leisurely walk station one thru two. At that time, a typhoon was visiting the country and it was evident in the big waves and strong wind but the tourists remained on shores and carried on with their activity, despite the sand storm like effect. The kids continued to play. The vacationers who are parasailing weren’t afraid of the sturdy wind. I pursued shopping at Talipapa despite the rain, took shots of the colorful sarong, key holders and other souvenirs any tourist can take home for the loved ones waiting for our return.
It’s actually my very first vacation that I have with me a camera, any digital cam for that matter. I took the pleasure of capturing the different cloud formations while on the plane. It was rewarding, I mean, I was like a child moving in any position or angle just to take good shots of the clouds. Despite my boyfriend’s disapproval of that behavior and despite my tears because he got upset, I continued to shoot. My heart was dancing at long last I have taken shots of clouds though I know the attempt wasn’t that eye catching still I love them. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder, anyway. My vacation was made complete with a heartwarming night of celebration with Love for our two months together.

In summary, my second time in Boracay was splendid, blessed and pleasurable. Indeed, Boracay is a place where you can rest your mind from work pressure and stress; loosen up your joints from all sort of problems; forget the worries of tomorrow and feel like a millionaire even just for a while. Will I come back to Boracay? Defintely yes! The Island despite its population growth remains a sanctuary for me. Did I mention that nature is the best outlet for all sort of pressure? Well, I was relieved. You should try releasing the tension toward nature, it won’t be the same.
